OUR IMPACT

HOW WE HAVE CHANGED THE WORLD

"I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples." - Mother Teresa

Our Impact in Africa

Fight against FGM

Female genital mutilation. Every day, thousands of girls are mutilated. We are conducting awareness campaigns in villages in the Yatenga region of Burkina Faso to stop families from mutilating their daughters. We also facilitate reconstructive surgery for girls and women suffering from severe physical and psychological sequelae due to FGM.

Our Impact in the Carribean

Fight against violence and sexual assault against women.

The women rape victims we met all reported that rape is an unforgettable event. They have developed a traumatic personality. As they say, you can accept her rape, but you can’t forget it. Recently, with the rise in kidnappings, several women say they are traumatized. They all testified to the dehumanizing power of the rape they suffered. Most of them suffer from personality disorders (low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, desire to hurt others, irritability, self-hatred, impulsivity, etc.). They have been brutalized, instrumentalized or objectified by their executioners. The Carmen Charles Foundation collaborates with partners in Haiti to facilitate psychosocial support and provide support for basic needs such as: food, clothing, etc.
